Former Hampshire and Isle of Wight chief constable Scott Chilton has been barred from serving as a police officer again after a misconduct panel found his conduct amounted to gross misconduct.
The panel concluded that Chilton displayed entitlement, dishonesty and a lack of integrity through sexual relationships with two officers who were subordinate to him, according to reporting by The Guardian.
The hearing also examined evidence that Chilton engaged in sexual activity while on call to lead responses to major incidents. The finding concerns conduct by a senior officer entrusted with operational command and professional standards within the force.
Chilton, 53, retired as chief constable before the hearing took place. The decision means he cannot return to policing, bringing the disciplinary process to a conclusion after the panel's gross misconduct ruling.
