At least 30 people were killed when a Russian strike hit a public transport vehicle in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, officials in the Donetsk region said.

The regional prosecutor’s office said the attack occurred at about 10am and involved an aerial bomb. It reported that 18 people were wounded.

Local authorities suspended all public transport services after the strike. The reported details were published by The Guardian.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Kremlin had deliberately targeted what he described as an ordinary public transport stop. The reported casualty toll makes the attack one of the deadliest strikes on civilians in Ukraine this year.
